Knowing our services will be more important than ever, we will continue to provide food to people in need but our distribution method will change.
Beginning the week of March 16th, 2020, the Opal J Smith Food Pantry facility will be closed to clients. Our Staff Members will pre-pack grocery boxes with shelf stable food to distribute on regular pantry days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of every week). We will operate a drive-through food pick-up in the parking lot of the pantry facility. Staff will wear protective gear, and groceries will be placed in the vehicles of our clients, so that they will not need to leave their vehicle. The Food Boxes will contain 7 days’ worth of food supplies.
Hours of operation will be the following days/times:
- Wednesdays of Every week (10:00am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm)
- Thursdays of Every week (10:00am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm)
We will operate using this schedule until the pandemic Status no longer applies.
