Setting a Court Date

If you wish to contest the citation and request a jury trial date or a trial by judge, you will need to request a court date either in person or by mail. If by mail, please write out your request along with a not-guilty plea and a current mailing address. Please be aware that you will have to first appear at a pre-trial conference to speak with the city prosecutor before you are given an actual trial date.

If you do not wish to contest the citation but would like an opportunity to speak with the judge, you will need to request a court date either in person or by mail. If by mail, please write out your request along with a no-contest or guilty plea and a current mailing address. Once the court receives your mailed-in request, you will be set for the next available docket and notice will be sent to the address you provided.

Any request for a reset date must be in writing and filed with the court no later than seven days prior to your court date.

Violators 16 years or younger will be automatically set for a hearing.
