STAR Transit’s new TripSpark software establishes ways in which riders can be assured they will receive service reminders and updates about their scheduled trips, according to Tommy Henricks, the agency’s Executive Director. “This month we initiated this dependable communication system that will help to keep using transit hassle free,” he said.
Type of Notifications
- Riders will receive, phone calls and/or SMS text messages from STAR Transit with Trip Reminders, Trip Confirmations, Trip Cancellations and Trip Changes, such as a time adjustment.
- Riders will be able to confirm or cancel their trip prior to the date of scheduled trip without having to call in or speak to a reservationist.
- Riders will receive a notice, either a call or SMS text message when their vehicle is in route.
- Only riders who have scheduled trips will receive communications.

A: No, trips that are pre-booked to occur every day are considered a subscription will not receive the notifications for that trip.
