Oakridge Park Splash Pad Ribbon Cutting was held on May 27, 2022. Oakridge Park is located at 1400 Spring Oaks Dr. Hours of the splash pad are from 8am to 8pm. The Balch Springs Community and Economic Development Corporation Type B is funding the $1.4M park improvement project.
Grand Trip Retail Convenience Store and retail suites is now open. Grand Trip is located at 11316 Lake June Road. Grand Trip will include gas dispensers and will also have retail suites in the shopping center.
A Laquinta Del Sol Hotel was approved by the City Council on April 11, 2022. The location will be at I-635 and Lake June Road on Dunson Drive behind the QuikTrip. The hotel will be a four-story structure approximately 45,200 SF and include the following amenities: breakfast served daily, fitness room, sundry shop, an outdoor pool and spa, meeting/conference room, and laundry room. The financial investment of the development is estimated to be around $7 million. Construction of the new hotel will tentatively begin in the 2023 and will take 12 months to complete.
